Goals

Well, it’s official. 2025 is here! We are going to see so many fitness goals, food goals, mental health goals, relational goals, and so much more popping up on social media!


Goals are meant to be achieved. But many goals are so lofty, you quit before you even start! And no goal will be achieved without a change of perspective and attitude.


No goal will be achieved without a change of perspective and attitude.


So, I asked the Holy Spirit what the Church needs to change both personally and corporately, and He told me these:


Gratitude over Grumpiness

Positivity over Pessimism

Happy over Haughty

Joy over Judgement

Compliments over Complaints


Colossians 3:17 says this: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”


Paul was saying that the perspective and attitude we must have is that which is done in the name of Jesus. That phrase “in the name of Jesus” means “as if Jesus was doing or saying it Himself”. And I believe that Jesus is definitely filled with gratitude, positivity, happiness, joy, and compliments. Here’s a few verses to go along with them. You might even want to take some time and search the Scriptures for more!


Gratitude: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” I Thessalonians 5:18


And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.”

1 Corinthians 10:10


Positivity: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8


Hope deferred makes the heart sick” Proverbs 13:12


Happiness: “I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.” Ecclesiastes 3:12


Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18


Joy: “But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.” Psalm 51:11


Mercy triumphs over judgement.” James 2:13


Compliments: “Encourage one another daily while it is still called Today.” Hebrews 3:13


Do everything without complaining or arguing" Philippians 2:14


So I made us a graphic of these 5 things. And by the way, 5 is the number of grace, and we will need God’s grace to enable us to transform our attitudes! Whew!



Print it. Post it. Share it. Make it your screen saver. Hang it on your bathroom mirror. Keep it ever before you. And above all, invite Holy Spirit to empower you in these 5 areas. I truly believe it will change the face of the Church both personally and as a whole.
